ACCOMMODATION

Santa Barbara area is a popular spot for tourists and has a large number of hotels and motels.  The UCSB Campus where the DLT 2006 conference will be held, is in Goleta, about 10 miles from downtown Santa Barbara.  The Santa Barbara Airport (which is actually in Goleta) is located right next to the campus.

We have blocked rooms in four hotels in Goleta, close to the UCSB campus and the airport.  You need to call the hotels and make your own reservations.  For each hotel the rates below are guaranteed only if you call by the date listed.  To get one of the blocked rooms you need to say that you are calling for the DLT conference organized by the Computer Science Department at UCSB.  Please note that you must book your room no later than May 12, 2006.  Please see the hotel website for amenities and further information.

Transportation to Hotels

• We plan to provide shuttle service between the hotels and the campus, once in the morning and once at the end of the day.
• The first three hotels are in walking distance from each other.  Best Western South Coast Inn, Pacifica Suites, and Holiday Inn provide shuttle services.  There is no shuttle service for Motel 6.
• Best Western South Coast Inn:  There is a shuttle every half hour from 7:30am to 10:30pm.  You need to call for shuttle 15 minutes in advance from 7:30am to 10:30pm.  You can take this shuttle to and from campus and the airport.
• Holiday Inn:  There is a shuttle to and from the Santa Barbara Airport.
• Pacifica Suites:  There is a shuttle to and from the Santa Barbara Airport.

• Taxi Cab:  Taxi fare from the hotels to the UCSB campus is about $10-$15 – the price is the same for 1 or more passengers.
