Meeting Location

The conference will be held at the UCSB Engineering Science Building (ESB), Room 1001.  The location of  ESB is shown here  UCSB campus map .

We will provide a laptop (for powerpoint presentations), a data projector and overhead projectors at the conference room.

Transportation to UCSB

You can find information about how to get to the UCSB campus (including the Santa Barbara Airbus from the Los Angeles International Airport) here.

UCSB Van Schedule

Transportation  from Best Western, Holiday Inn, and Motel 6 will be provided for morning pick-up and afternoon return.
We will be using two UCSB vans for this purpose.  Because of limited  passenger space and a tight schedule, there will be
two pick-ups, starting at approximately 7:45 AM.  There will be a sign-up sheet (on a first-come-first-serve basis) at the
hotel front desk.  Please be sure to sign up if you need a ride.

Other Means of Transportation Between the Hotels and UCSB

Computer Access

We will provide internet access to the DLT 2006 participants, including wireless. 
Instructions for access will be provided during registration.

Lunch Suggestions

Places listed below are in walking distance to the conference location.

At the California Nanosystems Institute  (CNSI) , coordinates D,6 on the map.

At the University Center (UCEN), coordinates F,3 on the map.

In Isla Vista (10 minute walk), outside of campus, westside.

Welcoming Reception

There will be a welcoming reception on Monday, June 26 at around 6:15 PM . 
This  will be held  outside the Marine Biotechnology Laboratory overlooking the Pacific Ocean (coordinates G,5  on the map).

Excursion and Conference Dinner

On Wednesday, June 28 (after lunch), we are planning a trolley tour of Santa Barbara and a tour of the historic SB Courthouse. 
The conference dinner in the evening will be held at  the UCSB Faculty Club (coordinates E,2 on the map).
